SOBELL House has raised thousands of pounds with its annual Christmas gift fair at Radley College.

About 2,000 people attended the fair on Saturday to browse 67 stalls and raise money for the charity.

Stalls featured gifts, jewellery, accessories, handbags, food and Christmas stocking fillers.

Last year’s event raised more than £10,000 for the Oxford hospice and this year’s fair is expected to raise a similar amount.

Sobell fundraiser Kelly Houghton said: “It was a really successful fair. It is one of our main events of the year and obviously the money that we raised makes a massive difference to the hospice and the people who use the service, and their families.

“Due to the nature of the work we do here we touch so many people in the county and I think it is one of the ways they like to show their support.”

Sobell House, in the grounds of the Churchill Hospital Headington, was established in 1976 to care for people suffering a life-threatening illness, and for their families.
