Almost 300 residents are believed to have voted on the future of the Rose Hill Community Centre over the weekend.
Residents have been asked to choose between a £650,000 refurbishment project of the current centre, or a £3m new build.
The city council does not have any confirmed voting figures from Saturday’s ballot.
However, Rose Hill councillor Antonia Bance said at least 280 people had voted.
The count will be held on Friday.
