Khloe Kardashian has revealed she was told husband Lamar Odom had just four hours to live after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel.
The reality star said Lamar came closer to death than anyone knew and making medical decisions for him was the most emotionally stressful time of her life.
In an interview on the Today show on American television, Khloe, 31, said: “They told me that he had four hours. It’s a horrible call to get. Getting to the hospital and knowing he’s in a coma and having to run these tests or make medical decisions — it’s terrifying.”
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star filed for divorce from the former NBA player in 2013, but their divorce had not been finalised when Lamar was taken to hospital.
“You have to make risk-and-reward decisions. Like there’s an 80 per cent chance if we do this operation, he might pass away. But also, if we don’t do it, there’s a 90 per cent chance he’ll pass away. Having to make these executive decisions is hard on anybody so it was definitely the most emotionally stressful times of my life.”
Lamar remained unconscious for three days in a Las Vegas hospital before waking up on October 16.
He has now been moved to hospital in Los Angeles and Khloe said he is learning to walk again and having speech and cognitive therapy.
She also recently requested that a judge dismiss their divorce case even though they will not be reuniting.
She said in the interview: “I was expediting the divorce prior. And I’m still separated with him, but I’m just not expediting it any more. There was no reason for it.”
Revealing she is still his medical adviser, she added: “He had no one else to make these decisions for him.”
