Paul Bettany has revealed that keeping quiet over his Avengers 2 role has been immensely difficult.
The English actor, who will play The Vision in the upcoming superhero sequel Age Of Ultron, admitted keeping his cards close to his chest is especially tough when it comes to his three children with wife Jennifer Connelly.
“It’s a secret I’ve kept for about three years, which is really hard, especially with three kids,” he told the Hollywood Reporter.
“I’m contractually obliged not to talk about it,” he continued, joking that he’s still concerned about “sunlight glinting off a sniper’s telescopic lens”.
Paul, who was speaking from the Dubai International Film Festival, where he screened his directorial debut Shelter, added: “It’s still a secret, I think all will be revealed very shortly.”
The 43-year-old star, best known for voicing Iron Man’s AI companion J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man films, teased about a connection between his previous alter-ego and The Vision, an android who teams up with the Avengers.
“J.A.R.V.I.S will be there. And so will The Vision. But I simply can’t tell you any more,” he said.
Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Samuel L Jackson will reprise their roles for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, alongside newcomers Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and James Spader.
