BLUES great Lazy Lester is one of those rare things - a living musical legend.

He's been playing since blues was king, and still carries the tradition almost single-handedly around the world several times over each year.

As a musical icon his talents are as much in demand as ever and in 2012 he's being inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis, Tennessee.

There aren't many living bluesmen who've had major hits, as Lester did in the 1950s and 1960s, and are still performing with the gusto and precision of their youth.

And he hasn't lost a thing; his voice has become richer with age, and many say he is in his prime right now.

This Monday blues fans will get a chance to hear the legend when he plays alongside The Bayou Brothers for the Famous Monday Blues, at the Jericho Tavern San Diego’s Bayou Brothers play rowdy, foot-stomping, rockin’ blues - and promise to play the hottest show in town this week.

Check them at at the Jericho Tavern, walton street, Oxford, on Monday.

The music starts at 9pm.
