OXFORD United have moved to strengthen their attacking options by signing Carlton Morris on loan from Norwich City.

The 18-year-old striker passed a medical this afternoon after agreeing a deal which will keep him at the club until January.

He boosts U's boss Michael Appleton's forward options and is in line to make his senior debut in their opening game in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday, when Burton Albion visit the Kassam Stadium.

Morris, who has two goals in three appearances for England’s under 19 side, made his first-team bow for the Canaries in a friendly against Nice last week.

He was part of the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning side in the 2012/13 season.

Excellent addition, great player looked awesome with the murphy twins In the youth cup triumphs. A lot of good talk about this guy, hopefully he will lead the line well for us along with Hylton. Very happy oufc tonight..

As said on previous message, strong, quick, good in the air and knows where the net is. Not bad so far Mr Appleton, here's to a good start on Saturday!

Could be a really good signing, better to have some youth international with great potential than some old has been looking for a final six months wages. Hearing another striker coming in by Wednesday, interesting to see who starts. Morris when interviewed seem to suggest that he was in from the start. Good luck to him, hope he is another Robbie Hall. Without all the messing around that we got from West Ham.

If it'sI no. 9, That would then rule out perhaps a more experienced and proven striker coming in.

I live 15 minutes from Newport and so hear any County news, but nothing so far. This would of been big news, as it would for any League Two side, but neither the local newspaper site are reporting it or the local TV news, even as a rumour.

Why hang on to Beano? - he has struggled in the FL
in my view since we regained our league status.

FOUR goals since Christmas wasn't it?

Constable has checked out and we move on.

A quality young player, who clearly wants to do well for us and himself. A very impressive signing by MA. I would imagine he will start on Saturday.

I haven't looked forward to a new season as much as this one for a long time.

Slight typo there David, you inadvertently made it a plural.

This increases our attacking option; from one, now to two.

Welcome Morris Oxford! I have every faith you will fill your boots here! Here's hoping that before the season starts, you'll have a bit of company/competition in the oppo's half of the field.
