Oxford and Didcot Parkway railway stations will have electric car charging points installed.
The stations, along with Charlbury, Cholsey, Henley-on-Thames and 39 others across the country, have been chosen to benefit from a £9m Government investment.
The Office of Low Emissions has given First Great Western £315,000 of that money to create the charging points.
In October, the Oxford Mail reported that one charger in the city had not been used in more than two years.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said: “Electric cars are one of the most promising of our green industries and we want to secure the UK’s position as a global leader in both the production and adoption of these vehicles.
“The extremely low running costs of electric cars help drivers save money and we are allocating more than £9m to boost chargepoints across the country to help drivers to go green.”
