Two drivers from Oxfordshire were busted for speeding last week and fined hundreds after appearing in Magistrates’ Court.

Nicola Jane Ledingham, 57 of Cassington Road in Kidlington appeared at South West London Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday May 24.

On September 23, Ledingham was caught speeding seven mph above the 40 mph speed limit on the A40 in Ealing, London.

The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into consideration when imposing a sentence.

Ledingham was fined £192 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90, totalling £316 to be paid by June 6.

In addition, the defendant was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.

Annie Simpson, 19 of Whitley Crescent in Bicester appeared at Staffordshire Magistrate’s Court on Friday May 27.

Simpson was also caught driving over the 40mph speed limit. The defendant was busted by speed cameras on the M6 as she was driving northbound between junction 10 and 13 in Stafford.

The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into consideration when imposing a sentence.

Simpson was fined £120 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90, totalling £244 to be paid by June 24.

In addition, Simpson’s driving licence was endorsed with six points.
