IN BRIEF: The club’s building is run-down so members want to knock it down and rebuild a ‘super’ clubhouse which they can use to socialise, store all their boats, get changed and work out.

The team have decided to fork-out for the clubhouse, to commemorate 150 years since the club first swung open its doors.

IN BRIEF: Some old officers hidden behind some family homes might become a school for around 30 foreign students, if the plans are approved.

Planners behind the new language school, which will be run by City College Oxford, have asked the council to change the use of the building legally from some offices to a place where people can study.

IN BRIEF: The same Oxford University college Emma Watson went to wants to build two new netted practice lanes for student cricketers on its field.

If the plans go-ahead the new lanes will replace the old ones, which block off the corner of the field. They’ll be lined with fake grass, and black mesh netting will be hung over the new steel frame.

IN BRIEF: Planners want to revamp a car park into three houses.

The mix of one-bed and two-bed maisonettes will be split over two storeys and will slot into the street full of family homes.

IN BRIEF: Oxford City Council want to revamp some land to make 27 new car parking spaces for residents who live in the houses and flats on the cul-de-sac off Sandy Lane. 

They wrote in their plans online that there is ‘a great deal’ of informal parking – cars parking on the grass and mounting the pavements, which is ruining the land.

IN BRIEF: The old Golden Cross Café, formerly Café Puccino’s, could be revamped into some non-residential studios, if Oxford City Council give developers the go-ahead.  

The Grade I listed building needs special consent because they want to do some redevelopment work like adding a toilet and kitchen, and permanently closing a door joining the units together.
