A PARISH council has documented its concerns over plans for new council houses in a church newsletter.
Old Marston Parish Council wrote in the Marston Times to explain how members feared the site would become overdeveloped, would compromise the privacy of neighbours who live on Mill Lane and would make traffic dangerous.
The plans for the row of nine new homes at Cumberlege Close in Marston — which would be a mix of two, three and four bedrooms – were filed by Oxford City Council.
Here is what Oxford City Council plans to do
It wants to build a total of 35 new homes across two sites, the other being at Elsfield Hall in Cutteslowe.
Of the 35 homes, 14 will be made available to rent by people on the city council’s housing register.
Other plans submitted to Oxford City Council
Reviewing the plans, the parish council explained: "Although the council is aware of the need for such properties, it has concerns over the extra traffic that would be generated, especially through an already dangerous 'S' bend in Mill Lane."
