ANTHONY Forde is set to return to the matchday squad ahead of the visit of Blackpool this weekend.

The Irishman missed the midweek win against Doncaster Rovers due to a family bereavement.

U’s boss Karl Robinson confirmed today though that Forde would be available for selection on Saturday, after coming back from Ireland.

Robinson said: “He’ll be involved at the weekend, he has a test tomorrow morning and we’ll have to wait for the outcome of that test.

“Once he has that test, he can’t go anywhere near the group until that comes back negative.

“It shows the protocol that we’ve gone through – it’s so rigorous and to the point, it’s very detailed.

“We can’t cheat the system and put him in training today.

“We had to control how he travelled there, contact time, and where he stayed.

“We made sure every single thing was in place and we just have to wait for a negative test now, we won’t get the results back until 5pm tomorrow.”

Robinson also provided an update on striker Sam Winnall, who picked up an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw at MK Dons last month.

“Sam Winnall is back training today and we’re looking forward to having him back in the group,” Robinson said.
