CAMERON Brannagan could be involved in an in-house match at Oxford United’s training ground today.

The U’s were given two days off after Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Northampton Town due to the postponement of tomorrow’s trip to Bristol Rovers.

With no game until Boxing Day, United will then not train again until Monday.

But head coach Karl Robinson explained United have to bring the players in today to avoid a round of coronavirus tests.

Matty Taylor: Oxford United will not lose focus during gap in fixtures

“We’ll do a double session on Friday and they’ll have the weekend off as well,” he said.

“EFL regulations state you can’t have three days off without testing the group.

“If we don’t want to test, we have to bring them in after two days.

“These are things that we do correctly, some other clubs maybe not.

“We’ll have a break and we’ll spend some time with our families.”

The training game gives Robinson the chance to measure Cameron Brannagan’s progress as he continues his comeback from a serious eye problem.

The U’s boss said: “Cameron Brannagan now needs a game.

“It’s a chance to test him.”
