CHRISTIAN Ribeiro has revealed hidden talents in a birthday message for former Oxford United teammate Charlie Raglan on Instagram.

The latter, who is now at Cheltenham Town, turns 27 today.

They became good friends at United and when Raglan's girlfriend got in touch suggesting a video message, Ribeiro opted for a spoof of David Brent - Ricky Gervais's character from hit sitcom The Office.

The former right back, who since being forced to retire in 2017 has set up a property business, grew a goatee beard for the stunt.

And despite only buying a guitar last month, the 30-year-old was able to play Brent's 'Free Love Freeway' from the programme.

He said: "We're all massive Ricky Gervais fans and when the video was suggested I thought 'I've got to do it as David Brent'.

"I bought a guitar about a week before the lockdown and suddenly it has been a nice little hobby to have.

"I've never done anything like that before.

"To someone who is an absolute beginner, that was hard. It took me a while to get there.

"I knew what the chords were but I had to learn it by trial and error.

"I was practising the song for two or three weeks.

"The first bit of the video which was talking I did pretty quickly, but the song took me a good half hour to get it right. I got some good outtakes.

"I grew my beard longer than I've ever had it and cut it into a goatee to look the part, so I went all in for it."
