An opening date has been announced for a new Six by Nico restaurant at the Westgate Centre in Oxford.

The chain, which started out in Scotland, has announced it will be opening its new restaurant on the rooftop terrace.

It will be the 15th Six by Nico in the UK and 50 new jobs are being created in time for the opening on Wednesday, May 22.

Founded by chef Nico Simeone, the chain is renowned for its six-course tasting menu that changes every six weeks, drawing inspiration from a memory, place or idea.

The six-course menu is priced at £50 per person, with the option to enjoy a selected wine pairing for an additional £30.

Mr Simeone said: "We are thrilled to bring the taste of Six by Nico to Oxford.

The menu will be changing every six weeks.

Six by Nico Oxford has a capacity for 64 covers in the main dining area with a private dining space for 12 guests, plus a terrace in a space offering nearly 4,300 sq ft overall.

Drawing inspiration from the six-legged dragonfly, the designers at Studio Two have designed an interior based on the creature's form, colour and natural habitat.

Since opening in Finnieston, Glasgow, in 2017, Six by Nico now has locations in 10 cities in the UK with 15 locations - including two in London, two in Manchester and three in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff.
