An historic pub near the River Thames has been placed on the market after closing down.
The John Barleycorn in Goring is a “charming” 18th-century tavern-style village pub up for sale for £750,000.
The former owners describe it as “an old village pub, full of character, with low ceilings and old beams" with a "sunny beer garden, and cosy bar with fireplace”.

At the ground floor level, there are two main bar and seating areas, a kitchen, toilet facilities and various stores.
The pub also boasts three ensuite rooms that can be used as a B&B.
In addition to the B&B rooms, there is a further function or storeroom and landlord's accommodation, with private access.
To the back of the pub, there is an enclosed beer garden, an outbuilding for storage and off-street parking for three cars.
The estate agent listing the pub said: “Goring is an area of outstanding natural beauty on the River Thames.
“The John Barleycorn is near to the centre of the village and attracts a larger number of tourists and walkers with the Thames Path close by.
“The village has good rail links with Oxford, Reading and London Paddington.
“The property is a charming 18th Century tavern style village pub with the added benefit of the ensuite letting rooms for B&B.
“Being Grade II listed, the property is of period styling.”
