THE sentencing of a man who strangled a woman in Oxford has been postponed.
Michael Gardener, 33, was due to be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Friday (February 23) for one count each of affray, intentional strangulation and assault by beating.
The incident occurred on December 11 last year in Botley Road when Gardener intentionally strangled and assaulted a woman and threatened violence towards her.

However, his sentencing was delayed as the probation service has been unable to speak to him to arrange a pre-sentence report.
Gardener, of The Lees, Faringdon, was asked if he wanted to go through with sentencing without a report but he chose to wait until he had a chance to speak to them.
He will now be due back in the same court on March 15.
