A SENTENCING date has been set for a man found guilty of assaulting his girlfriend but not guilty of rape.

Tommy Gunn stood trial at Oxford Crown Court charged with several offences, including one count each of controlling and coercive behaviour, intentional non-fatal strangulation, false imprisonment, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, sexual assault and rape in Banbury.

After a week-long trial, the 34-year-old, of no fixed abode, was found guilty on Tuesday (February 13), of controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The jury found Gunn not guilty of intentional non-fatal strangulation, false imprisonment, sexual assault, and rape.

For the other two counts, Gunn will be sentenced at the same court on March 12.
