PICTURES found on a murder-accused's phone were shown to members of the jury to demonstrate the woman's 'fascination' with violence and harm.

Scarlet Blake, 25, is on trial at Oxford Crown Court charged with the murder of 30-year-old Jorge Carreno.

It is alleged she strangled him at Parsons Pleasure, a popular bathing spot near Oxford City Centre, before pushing him in the water in the early hours of July 25, 2021.

Blake has admitted to seeing Mr Carreno, a Spanish man who worked at the BMW Plant in Cowley, hours before his death but denies having any involvement.

During the trial, prosecutor Alison Morgan KC told the jury that Blake has a 'fascination' with violence and harm as well as receiving 'sexual gratification' from strangulation.

Pictures were shown to the jury on Monday (February 12) which were recovered from her phone when her home in Crotch Crescent, Marston, was searched in August last year.

It is not suggested the photos, which include cartoons and screenshots, were made by Blake but were rather saved.

Ms Morgan KC told the jury that Blake's financial records showed a purchase for piano wire earlier in the year.

The trial continues.
