Omoruyi's case has now been sent to Oxford Crown Court and will be heard at 10.30am on Friday, March 8.

The arrest of Omoruyi was the topic of controversy this week as the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley stated the description of Omoruyi by police was 'concerning'.

He said:  “In my view it was clearly wrong to describe the suspect as a woman.

"It is important that the public, and possibly other victims have a clear understanding of the facts.

“The accused in this case, Osareen Omoruyi, is a 51-year-old male.”

Responding to his concerns, Thames Valley Police said: "The individual identified as a female and the officers treated them as such in accordance with College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice.

"Consequently, our charge press release that was published reflected this position."
