A DRUG dealer has been jailed for dealing cocaine and other substances worth more than £13,500 in Botley.

James Beaumont, 39, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison at Oxford Crown Court on Monday (January 22).

He pleaded guilty to five counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A and two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B.

The dealer also admitted one count of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class C, and one count of possession of an prohibited weapon.

The court heard that at about 5.25pm on April 19, 2020, officers attended an address in Westminster Way.

They found a large amount of class A, B and C drugs, including cocaine, ecstasy, LSD, methylamphetamine, gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) and ketamine, with a street value of more than £13,500.

The officers also found six tasers disguised as iPhones.

Beaumont was present at the address and was also found to be in possession of several phones with messages that referenced dealing drugs and recruiting other people to be part of a drugs line.

Officers arrested Beaumont, of Southern Bypass, Oxford, following an investigation.

Investigating officer PC Kate Duggan said: “This was a protracted investigation due to the sheer quantity of drugs found and forensic analysis of several mobile phones to all be examined by experts.

“However, this has resulted in the successful conviction and incarceration of a well-established drug dealer who appeared to be developing his business and we have been able to prevent the distribution of thousands of pounds-worth of illicit substances.”
