Residents of and visitors to Didcot have been steaming into Christmas at Didcot Railway Centre as the destination began this month's festive events last weekend.

At the centre's Steam into Christmas days, children are given a passport on arrival and tasked to find eight reindeer stations located around the railway centre. At each reindeer station the passport is stamped and children receive a gift.

At the end of the search for reindeer, participating children arrive at Santa's Grotto where they meet the man himself and are able to choose a gift from a selection in a Royal Mail coach. They then take a steam train ride back to the middle of the railway centre.

The Steam into Christmas days continues throughout December, on the weekends of December 9 and10 and 16 and 17, then Thursday December 21, Friday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23.
