Spirit lovers now have a new place to drink as the city's first absinthe bar has opened in Oxford.
The Parlour has opened in the basement of Lynrace, a spirit and cocktail bar, on Walton Street in Jericho.
Absinthe is an anise-flavoured spirit derived from several plants and is well known for being a highly alcoholic spirit, ranging from 45 per cent to 85 per cent.

A social media from Lynrace post said: "The Parlour is open! Due to popular demand, we have extended Lynrace Spirit to include a downstairs bar, styled after a Victorian absinthe parlour.
"During the renovation process, we have uncovered beautiful period features, tastefully amplified for your discerning pleasure through light design and a curation of artworks".
The bar will be open Friday and Saturday.
