The score means that food hygiene standards are 'very good' at the fast-food restaurant.

The inspectors assessed the KFC in terms of the cleanliness and condition of facilities, hygienic food handling and management of food safety.

It means that of Oxford's 416 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 351 (84 per cent) have ratings of five stars and none have zero ratings.

It comes as KFC has this year revealed it is opening a new restaurant in Headington on Windmill Road.

Planning permission was granted by Oxford City Council on April 12 to convert the building into a takeaway restaurant.

An opening date has not been confirmed by the fast food company at this stage
