A 39-year-old man died from a traumatic head injury that he suffered during a fall, an inquest heard on Thursday (June 14).

Robert Tomczyk of Grimsbury Square, Banbury, died on January 14 just weeks after the unexpected death of his brother Adam Tomczyk, aged 53, on December 9.

The brothers lived together and were close friends.

Doctors believe Robert’s discovery of his brother had a big impact on his own health, the inquest heard.

Family member, Krzysztof Pup explained that he had very few issues with his health before this and that Robert's death had come as a shock.

He added that his family was in pieces after losing the two brothers.

The inquest heard that Robert fell, possibly due to a seizure, on or about the morning of January 12.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by ambulance where he died two days later.

Robert’s medical cause of death was given as a ‘traumatic brain injury.’

It was also noted that he suffered from epilepsy.

Back in January the Tomczyk family set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to help cover the cost of the funerals of the two brothers.

In total £2,915 was raised through the fundraiser.

Any money that wasn't needed to cover the cost of the funeral was donated to an organ donor charity.

Robert donated his liver, kidney, and pancreas to the NHS after his death.
