A man may stand trial later this year after reports of a firearm in east Oxford.
Yasin Hamid, 26, of Pound Way, Oxford, was before the magistrates last month charged with possession of a firearm.
His case was in front of Judge Ian Pringle KC at Oxford Crown Court on Friday (June 2), although the defendant was absent.
No pleas were taken and the defendant remanded into custody in his absence until a plea hearing on August 4.
If required, a trial will take place before the start of November.
The charges follow reports of a group of men being in possession of a gun in the Cowley Road area in the early hours of May Day.
Bullet casings were later discovered in Leon Close, off Cowley Road.
