A care home resident celebrated her 100th birthday in style receiving 112 cards from the local community.
Diana Moss, a resident at Green Gates Bupa Care Home in Summertown, was overwhelmed by the response to a campaign to send her 100 cards to mark her centenary.
The initiative was launched by staff at the care home and the Oxford Mail asked our readers to get involved.

The birthday girl said: “I am completely overwhelmed by the number of birthday cards I received.
“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sent me a card.
“I was also delighted to receive a card from His Majesty the King. It felt very special.
“I have been very spoilt indeed this year.”
Before her birthday, Diana was asked what the secret to a long life is and she explained that it was a gin and tonic at 6pm sharp every evening.
She is a proud mother of three, grandmother of five and great grandmother of one.

Diana loved gardening at her family home and still describes herself as a huge animal lover.
Louise De Fraine, senior care assistant, commented: “We all gathered in the lounge to help Diana read through them all – there were some lovely messages and kind words.
“She is clearly a very loved and valued member of the community.
“This has definitely helped us make her 100th birthday one to remember.”
