MOTORISTS have been warned to stay vigilant on roads today (October 24) due to a predicted ‘isolated thunderstorm’.

The Met Office has said the weather today will be a ‘mixture of sunshine and showers’ but ‘with a chance of an isolated thunderstorm’.

This follows a brief period of heavy rain yesterday (October 23) which saw thunder and lightning across the county.

As a result, Oxfordshire County Council's traffic management team has warned motorists to take care.

It said: “Following the heavy rain on Sunday, all road users are advised to travel appropriately for the conditions, and to stay vigilant for any surface water or flooding that may have occurred.

“The Met Office advise that there will be a mix of sun and rain today.”
