ART lovers are in for a treat in north Oxford tonight as three venues join together for an evening of creative fun, activity and wine.

The Art Late, Summertown event sees the Sarah Wiseman Gallery, The North Wall Arts Centre and Turrill Sculpture Garden – all in South Parade – unite for late exhibition openings, art demonstrations and wine tastings.

The activities run from 5.30-8pm and also feature a free mini-tour and talk exploring South Parade’s rich artistic offerings and history and a prize draw.

Each venue will host wine tasting, with vintages paired with the art on display, led by experts from South Parade independent wine merchants Grape Minds.

Visitors will be invited to collect a stamp at each venue, before entering their completed stamp cards into the prize draw. Prizes include a £50 voucher to spend at Mamma Mia pizzeria, two tickets to see a North Wall Performance and a £50 voucher to put towards picture framing at Sarah Wiseman Gallery.

Gallery director Sarah Wiseman said: “We are delighted to once again host and participate in Art Late. It’s going to be a very exciting evening.

“We hope the mini-tour, which begins at 5.45pm will be a fun, informative way to start your evening, before immersing yourself in all the visual art South Parade has to offer.”

Exhibitions include ‘Spellbound’ at Sarah Wiseman Gallery – an exploration of landscape and myth with new work by Daniel Ablitt and Flora McLachlan. TheTurrill is hosting ‘Fusion’ metal sculpture by Bruce Garside, Wilbur Heynes and Christopher Townsend, while The North Wall is showing the 84th Annual Wood Engravers exhibition.

There will also be art demos at Art-K, a new art studio/workshop also in South Parade.

The event is free to attend, with no need to book.
