A PRE-inquest review has taken place today into the death of a cyclist killed outside Oxford Parkway station.

Ellen Moilanen, 44, also known as El Len Tham, died in a collision with a lorry on the Oxford Road during rush hour on February 8.

The inquest into the death of the Kidlington woman was first opened at Oxford Coroner’s Court in April this year.

Assistant coroner Joanna Coleman said a post mortem had found the cause of Mrs Moilanen’s death to be multiple injuries.

Ms Coleman said the cyclist’s death was verified at the scene at 8.20am.

A full inquest into her death was due to take place today but the listing was changed to pre-inquest which is a meeting to discuss and arrange details for the final hearing.

In a tribute after her death, a spokesman for Reuben College, where Mrs Moilanen worked as an administrator, said: "Ellen will be fondly remembered as a friend to all, resourceful, funny, kind, to the point, and endlessly patient.

"Never could the college expect to have been blessed with such a wonderful colleague, and never could we have dreamt she be taken so suddenly.

"Our thoughts are with her husband Karo, family, friends and with all those for whom and with whom she worked so happily."

A white ‘ghost bike’ has been left as a permanent tribute, marking the spot where the Malaysian-born cyclist lost her life.
