POLICE officers made an arrest in Oxford city centre last night following reports of a man with a weapon.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told the Oxford Mail that the force was called to reports of a man with a weapon at 10.32pm last night, on High Street, near to Magdalen Bridge.

The spokesperson confirmed that the man arrested remains in police custody as of this morning.
“A 31-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a corkscrew,” the spokesperson said.
“He remains in police custody.”
