A MAN arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a shooting on Sunday has been released under investigation.

The 25-year-old man from Luton was released following the incident which involved a shooting in Cowley Road.

He was also arrested, along with a 23-year-old man, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm.

The 23-year-old has been released on police bail until August 22 while the 25-year-old was released under investigation.

Meanwhile, Emman Riasat, 21, of Outram Road, Cowley, has been charged by the police with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life today (27).

This follows the incident which included a firearm being discharged near the junction with Crown Street at about 6.45pm.

The alleged victim was taken to hospital with an injury to his shoulder and was discharged the following morning.
