A whiskey thief tried to pull the wool over Sainsbury’s store workers’ eyes – by stashing his stolen booty in a branded bag.
The ploy only partly worked, Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard.
Although he managed to get away from the store with two bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey in his orange Sainsbury’s bag on July 18, eagle-eyed staff recognised Keith Perry when he came back to the Maidenhead store five days later.

The 31-year-old was arrested and, appearing before a district judge sitting in Oxford on Monday, Perry, of The Green, Datchet, pleaded guilty to theft.
Lydia Etheridge, mitigating, said Perry was trying to kick his drug habit for the sake of his two children.
District Judge Kamlesh Rana jailed Perry for 14 days and ordered he pay £50 compensation.
