A man was fined hundreds of pounds by an Lancashire court for dropping a cigarette on the ground.

Graham Robinson, of Wey Road in Wallingford, appeared at Lancashire Magistrates' Court on June 10.

Court documents stated that on November 11 2021 Robinson threw a cigarette on the ground on Aughton Street in Fleetwood, therefore littering.

The 67-year-old was fined £220, made to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £50.

Under the law, if you are caught littering you can face a £150 fixed penalty notice.

Magistrates’ Court also has the power to impose a maximum fine of £2,500 for littering.
