Traffic on a main road in and out of Oxford city centre was brought to a standstill this afternoon due to a serious incident.
Police and ambulance scrambled to the scene of the incident and by 2pm Botley Road was closed in both directions to vehicles and pedestrians, with a road block in place.
The incident appeared to happen at the junction of Botley Road and Ferry Hinksey Road.

A witness at the scene told the Oxford Mail that a female cyclist was alleged knocked off her bike by a vehicle.
The cyclist who was allegedly hit appeared to be taken away in an ambulance with, what appeared to be, their bike left at the scene.

Traffic was held for around 40 minutes and both Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach services were diverted away from Botley Road.
Botley Road reopened at around 2.40pm.
South Central Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
