A man was arrested after cannabis, scales and cash were found on him during a police stop and search over the weekend. 

Police stopped him in Abingdon on Saturday afternoon as part of a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs stop and search order. 

He was found with a large amount of cannabis, some weighing scales and cash and arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.

After an illegal dagger, and more cannabis and cash was found in a search of the man's house he was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a private dwelling.

The search was fast-tracked so that further evidence was seized and not destroyed in the interim. 

One of the pictures shared by police shows a plastic bags full of cannabis, scales, and a roll-up cigarette. 

The other image shared shows cash, small vials, and other substances. 

The man has since been released under investigation and the cannabis will be destroyed.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Officers will always look to take positive action to disrupt drug dealing and will look to safeguard victims.
