AN INSPIRING resident at a retirement village is on a mission to collect as many clothes as possible for the Afghan Appeal.

Annie Lefevre, a resident at retirement village Richmond Villages in Letcombe Regis has been collecting donations of clothing from residents and staff. She hopes these donations will make a true difference and support those less fortunate.

Mrs Lefevre approached Richmond Villages Letcombe Regis’ village manager, Ian Robertson, to discuss her idea to support the appeal. The pair joined forces and set the goal of pulling together as many bags of clothing to donate as possible, in efforts to help refugees.

Mrs Lefevre has a rich history of charity work, supporting those in need and in unfortunate positions. From organising successful events for charities such as Marie Curie, and the NSPCC, Annie shows no sign of slowing down her commitment and dedication to crucial causes across a variety of issues and needs.

She said: “I’m so thrilled that we were able to support such a worthwhile and vital cause in the Afghan appeal. It was a heart-warming and proud moment to witness the village come together with a common goal and desire to help those impacted by this harrowing situation. Helping those less fortunate has always been a cause I’ve been passionate about throughout my life, so to get the support of the staff and residents at the village is brilliant and something I am so grateful for.”
