PLANS that would see more student accommodation and a global health centre built in the city are set to be approved tonight.
Oxford University have two application that are set to be decided at Oxford City Council’s planning committee meeting.
The first item on the agenda is to approve Oxford University’s plans to demolish the current 36 student dwellings and replace it with new graduate homes.

If plans are approved this evening, the 36 existing dwellings at Court Place Gardens, near Iffley, will be demolished and placed with a total of 71 two and three bed graduate houses.
The existing site, which is a Grade II listed building, has been used as graduate accommodation since the 1970s.
The second application to be consider at tonight’s planning committee, has also been submitted by the University of Oxford.

The city council will seek to approve the university’s plans to build a 4,500 square meters Global Health building.
The site at Old Road Campus on Roosevelt Drive is being built to help assist the university continue to expand its medical research.
It will provide office, research, and teaching spaces.
Outline planning permission was initially granted in 2013, however, tonight the council looks to approve the application and finalise the recommended conditions of application.
