A paedophile accused of failing to turn up to probation sessions is now a wanted man.

Martyn Rodger failed to attend a breach hearing at Oxford Crown Court on Monday. The 25-year-old is accused of breaching the six month suspended sentence he was given in August by skipping probation appointments.

Judge Michael Gledhill QC issued a warrant for the Witney man’s arrest. The warrant is not backed for bail, meaning the police cannot release him and must instead take him to the magistrates’ court to answer charges.

Earlier this year, Rodger was given six months’ imprisonment suspended for two years by Recorder John Hardy QC. He was ordered to do 60 days’ worth of rehabilitation sessions and comply with a sexual harm prevention order for the rest of his life.

Rodger, of Eastfield Road, Witney, had pleaded guilty to having five indecent images and videos in category A – the most serious – six in category B, one category C image and 1,167 prohibited images of children.

The disgusting collection was amassed between August and December 2019.
