TWO adorable cats are looking for their forever home in Oxfordshire.

The cats are being rehomed by the Oxfordshire branch of the RSPCA.

It comes after news that the animal charity rescued 13 abandoned animals in the county during lockdown.

According to the charity, these two cats are 'loyal', 'loving' and 'independent'.

Meet Millie

Oxford Mail:

This will be Millie's third attempt at finding a forever home after her first owner went into hospital unexpectedly and couldn't return home.

In December she was actually rehomed but that owner became unwell and suffered mental health problems exacerbated by coronavirus lockdown.

She is described as a very loving cat, but is 'initially shy'.

According to the shelter: "She picked up on her owners' health issues and started becoming afraid of her displaying some aggression which caused the new owner more issues so she reluctantly gave her back."

Millie's profile

  • 13-years-old
  • black and white
  • domestic shorthair crossbreed
  • prefers to be the only cat
  • needs to be able to go outside and explore
  • prefers only adults in the house
  • very independent
  • would prefer not to live with a dog

Meet Tamar

Oxford Mail:

Tamar is described as an 'old gentleman' who likes to 'talk a lot' but is always 'very polite'.

In fact, he always 'says hello' when he first wakes up and even has different noises depending on his need'.

In his profile 'he says': "I've been told I'm an older gentleman but I don't see it like that and I certainly don't act old.

"I absolutely love the garden and my favourite pastime is sitting under the hedge in the shade during the day and sitting on the sofa with you in the evening.

Oxford Mail:

"I may even sneak onto your bed if I'm allowed.

"As mentioned I've got very good manners, perfectly house trained and don't scratch furniture, so what's not so good about me?"

Tamar has a thyroid problem, like a lot of older cats, so will need to take regular medication (which is much cheaper to buy in bulk online) and will need check-ups and blood tests.

Tamars profile:

  • 12-years-old
  • Black and white
  • domestic shorthair crossbreed
  • prefers to be the only cat in the house
  • needs a home to go outside and explore
  • prefers to live with adults
  • loves company and would like somebody to be around most of the time
  • would prefer not to live with a dog
