A MAN caught with dozens of images of depraved child abuse - some involving children as young as three - has been spared jail.

Pervert Graham Ohare had already admitted 14 counts of making indecent images of children as well as one further count of possessing extreme pornography.

Oxford Crown Court heard at his sentencing hearing yesterday how the 52-year-old of Stort Close, Didcot, was caught after police raided his home on October 11 2017.

During that search of his Didcot address police seized a total of 51 devices.

On investigation the equipment, which included hard drives and a number of smart phones, officers discovered a stash of indecent images totalling 777 banned images.

These were made up of 143 category A images - the most severe category, as well as 212 in category B and 422 in category C.

There were also three extreme pornographic images.

Detailing some of the images prosecutors said that the youngest were three years old, and showed the children being subjected to graphic sexual abuse.

The court also heard that he was previously convicted of distributing indecent images more than a decade ago.

In mitigation his defence barrister said his client had taken steps to tackle his offending and had sought help to combat the predilection.

Sentencing, Judge Ian Pringle QC ordered that Ohare serve a three-year community order.

That order will include 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days as well as 30 days on a sexual offending accredited programme.

He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order and must pay a victim surcharge.
