A PENSIONER has been left with life-threatening injuries after another crash on the A420.

It happened on Thursday at around 2.28pm, seriously injuring a man in his 80s.

A white Dacia Sandero and a black Ford Focus crashed near Southmoor, at the junction with Charney Bassett.

The driver of the white car was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

His next of kin have been told.

The other driver, behind the wheel of the Ford Focus, had minor injuries.

PC James Lovell, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "I am appealing for witnesses to this incident during which a man in his 80s sustained life-threatening injuries.

"I would also ask that any motorists travelling along the A420 at this time to check dash-cam footage to see if it captured anything relating to this incident."

Anybody who saw something should call 101 using the reference 623 19/12.

It was one of three serious crashes on the A420 this week.

On Wednesday, a man in his 30s died after a head-on collision at the junction with Besselsleigh Road.

On Thursday, the same day as this crash, a woman had to be rescued by firefighters after her car ended up in a ditch off the A420 near Faringdon.
