POLICE have extended bail for the man who was arrested on suspicion of murdering a 16-year-old boy in Oxford.

The keen footballer, from Birmingham, was found stabbed and bleeding to death under a footbridge in Friars Wharf next to the River Thames in Oxford shortly before 8pm on January 3, 2018.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment but later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Liverpool on Friday September 6 on suspicion of his murder.

He was released on police bail until yesterday, but police have now extended this until November 4.
