KRIS BOYD has predicted he will fire blanks in the Old Firm derby - because, in the past, vowing to score against Celtic has done him no good.
Boyd's hit a phenomenal 113 goals in his career to date, but has yet to score against the Parkhead side.
The 23-year-old has another chance at Ibrox in the last Glasgow derby of the season, but said: "Every time I've played against Celtic I've said in the lead-up to the game I will score.
"So this time around I'll say that I will not and hope that my fortunes change and I'll get a goal."
Boyd is viewing the game as a chance to prove Celtic are not as far ahead as the 12-point SPL gap shows.
Boyd said: "All the boys are really looking forward to the game and it is another chance for us to show that we have turned the corner. Hopefully we can show that we are closer to Celtic than our league position shows.
"It is also important for us to keep our 12-game unbeaten run going."
