THE legacy left in the 1980s by orchid-lover Eric Young to continue

his work in the cultivation of the rare and magnificent flowers has paid

off once again. The Eric Young Orchid Foundation has emerged as the

world champion grower by winning the top prize at the World Orchid

Conference in Glasgow. The champion orchid, worth #1000 and the

Mansfield Trophy to the winner, was Paphiopedilum Rothschildianum 'Mont

Millais' which can be seen in the exhibition of blooms from 22 countries

which grace the 14th World Orchid Conference at the city's Scottish

Exhibition and Conference Centre.
