A SOLDIER flew home from Germany yesterday, 24 hours after his wife
and daughter were found dead in a fume-filled car.
Mr David Cairns, 32, of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, drove
to hospital to see his son, David, 12, who was rescued by farmer Sandy
Pirie.
Mr Pirie, 35, spotted a hosepipe coming from the car, in a quiet road
near Balfron, Stirlingshire. But it was too late to save Mrs Jane
Cairns, 31, and daughter Louise, eight, of Brediland Road, Linwood,
Renfrewshire.
Mrs Cairns and the children moved into the council house in Linwood a
few weeks ago after living in a homeless persons unit.
