holders Glasgow High School FP in their first tie on Saturday, play 1989
winners Kelvinside Academicals today in the first semi-final of the
fortieth annual Queen Elizabeth Coronation Schools Foursomes Trophy at
the Royal Burgess, Edinburgh. The other semi-final is between 1987
winners Stewarts Melville FP and Strathallians. Results:
First round -- Lorettonians lost to Grammarians 3-0; Breadalbane
Academicals lost to Oundelians 2-1; Royal High School FP beat Hillhead
HSFP 3-0.
Second round -- Aberdeen GSFP lost to Uppinghamians 3-0. Morrisonians
beat Lenzie Academicals 2-1; Glasgow High School FP lost to
Merchistonians 2-1; Novocastrians lost to Fettesians 3-0; Rugbeians lost
to Crieff HSFP 2-1; Giggleswickians beat Allan Glens OB 2[1/2]-[1/2];
