ANOTHER business has come forward to support the Dorset Echo’s Christmas Toy Appeal after being touched by the story of a family who benefited last year.

RiskSTOP Group is the fourth company to sign up to our ‘Ten for Ten’ scheme, which is being held to mark the 10th anniversary of the appeal.

Alongside DJ Property, Stylish Stitches and Ladies Alive, RiskSTOP Group has donated £100 to buy gifts and vouchers for needy children in the area.

Danny Lillington, managing director of Poundbury-based RiskSTOP Limited, said it was an article he read in the Dorset Echo about a mother and her one-year-old son who benefited from the appeal that persuaded him to support the cause.

Zita Zimbalatti, 22, spent last Christmas in Weymouth’s women’s refuge with Marley who was just 10 months old at the time.

Mr Lillington, from RiskSTOP, said: “After reading the article about Marley and Zita I realised the ‘Ten for Ten’ scheme is an excellent initiative supported by a fantastic team at the refuge.

“There are always people in more difficult circumstances than yourself and this is a great opportunity to help others in less fortunate situations.

“I was lucky enough to have a great childhood and while money was not plentiful, my parents always made sure we had lovely Christmas presents and these memories remain forever.

“I hope this money goes some way to making Christmas a happy time for all the children and their families, including those at the refuge, and our best wishes go to them.”

RiskSTOP is a leading provider of risk management surveys and supporting services to the insurance sector.

It has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation).

Miss Zimbalatti couldn’t believe it when she found out that RiskSTOP had donated the £100 after reading about her and Marley.

She said: “I feel absolutely overwhelmed that my story has made a bit of a difference.”
