During Dementia Action Week, staff and residents at Shawford Springs Care Home in Compton are honouring their dedicated Dementia Champion, Katy.
She is responsible for offering advice and support to residents suffering from dementia and their families. Although all Barchester staff receive dementia training, each facility has a Dementia Champion to provide further assistance.
Katy is renowned for her exceptional care and for constantly striving to meet the needs of residents and their families, allowing them to live life fully. She is full of practical strategies to aid families in dealing with any dementia-related challenges.
General Manager of Shawford Springs, Cassie said: "We are so proud of Katy and so lucky to have her, she is a wonderful member of the team and all our staff and residents love her.
"She works so incredibly hard to support all our residents living with dementia and their loved ones and ensure they have everything they need, nothing is too much trouble. It is lovely to be able to recognise her invaluable contribution to the home during Dementia Action Week."
