BANBURY was awash with food and all the colours of summer at the weekend.
Banbury Town Council’s first Food Fair was held in Market Place, along with the traditional Flower and Produce Show.
Among the county producers was Mary Healy, from North Aston Organics, who said: “It was fantastic, it was a lovely day, very hot.”
Council park keeper Richard Hornsby showed off produce from a vegetable patch at People’s Park, which volunteers work on every Thursday.
He said: “It went really well, we had a lot of interest from people who want to volunteer.”
Masterchef finalist Andrew Kojima gave demonstrations while trophies were handed out for the best out of 71 horticultural efforts. Visitors also enjoyed cake decorating and a Pimms area.
Council leader Kieron Mallon said: “It was a day out for all the family to enjoy and remember. This show never fails to impress.”
The council’s next event is the annual Town Criers Championship and Banbury Organ Festival in the town centre on Saturday, September 1.
