BANBURY Town Council is being forced to rethink its annual in-bloom competition after three categories in this year's event received no entries. Other classes received only enough entries "to get by".
A recent meeting of the Banbury in Bloom working party heard that the categories with no entries were the best shop front, best commercial premises, and best water/wildlife feature. Town mayor John Donaldson, chairman of the working party, said: "We struggled last year in some classes, but 2006 has been even more difficult. We have got to be more pro-active and raise the profile of the event for next year. We need to find a way of getting more people involved."
